Are you interested in the teaching and learning of languages? Looking for free CLPL? Then this is the event for you. The School of Education and SCILT (Scotland’s National Centre for Languages) are hosting a free staff development event at the University of Strathclyde. There will be workshops, presentations, research briefings and opportunities to talk with colleagues about what you’re doing in language education and what the way forward might be.

Sessions will include, but won’t be limited to: early years language learning; supporting bilingual learners; integrating language across the curriculum; listening to the learner voice; teaching the Spanish subjunctive; celebrating language diversity and developing literacy skills; teaching languages through outdoor learning; the impact of professional learning on teachers of Chinese in primary and secondary schools; making links with universities to support language education. There will also be a Translanguaging session where you can practise your language skills in French, Gaelic, German, Italian, Chinese or Spanish.

You can come along to the whole event or simply drop in when you’re able.

Visit the website to book your free place and sign up for the sessions that you’d like to attend by Wednesday 8 June.
